Rick Giannantonio is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Energy Harbor Corp. and is responsible for all company legal matters. Rick’s responsibilities include contract review, litigation and regulatory compliance (state, federal, local). He provides advice to executive leadership on all strategic matters including the company’s transition to a 100% carbon free, integrated generation company by 2023. He is also currently working with the Energy Harbor business team in the evaluation and execution of all emerging business infrastructure opportunities (e.g., data centers, hydrogen etc.) including behind the meter projects.


Rick was previously General Counsel of FirstEnergy Solutions Corp since April 2017, assuming the title of Executive Vice President in February 2020. Prior to that role, he was a member of the FirstEnergy Legal Department.


Rick earned a law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law graduated and has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1985 and is admitted to practice in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Northern District of Ohio.
